Engagement shoot- Amber & Ryan

We had a fantastic engagement shoot last night of a great couple who've just come home from teaching in Korea, Amber is into photography herself and uses an old box brownie as her walk about at the moment- a really great couple to photograph, we're really looking forward to photographing their wedding in January! anyway, here's a couple of shots for them...

Lisa Tamati running length of New Zealand-photos

What better way to kick the blog back into gear again? Last friday in the way to Auckland we came across Lisa on one of the legs of her amazing run from bottom to top of the country. Now before I say anymore lets take a look at that... she's running the full length of New Zealand, thats 2,200 kilometers... approximately 52 marathons!!! How hard is it? well for starters at the end of each day she has to soak herself in an ice bath so that her muscles don't cease! In Christchurch her body was finding it so tough she physically couldn't run anymore... but she never gave in! - she ran sideways to ease the pain, then backwards when this was too much and then finished this leg using walking sticks - she never gave in!

And why is she doing this?... for charity!

This is History!!! So I've got to ask myself, why isn't this followed by the news, and all of the local papers when she goes through their provinces? Why isn't it on Good Morning or Close Up? Come on guys, she needs your support!!

Wedding- Courtney & Doug

We photographed another awesome wedding on the weekend, the day started with 100kph winds and rain but by the time it came for them to get married it was the most beautiful spring day ever. This wedding was awesome, all the guys were dressed in kilts and Courtney was the ultimate bride... such a pleasure to shoot!

Paying It Forward..

I've always been into this concept, I read a book a long time ago by Paulo Coelho called The Alchemist, if you haven't read it, then it is time you do! It's a very simple story, but one that touches your soul. So anyway after being home and settled for a couple of years now I thought it was time I started this little part of my life journey, I was sitting there a few months ago and pondering over this every now and again for a couple of weeks trying to figure out a good way for me, in my industry, to 'pay it forward' then one day an email arrived. Isn't it just funny how things work out sometimes eh ;). O.k so there's a link below with the whole story from the local paper, what I find amazing is that so many other businesses are also willing to help out- Fantastic!!. A Massive shout goes out to Belinda for getting out there and doing this for someone! We're looking forward to getting some amazing photos for Ben & Chrissy on their special day... Yep thats right, the client has just approved my image for their international crime novel cover!!, I love photographic goals, I love setting them, and I loooove reaching them!

thats all, just thought I'd share my excitement... our little house is buzzing right now:)

Beauty Headshot- Chainmail

I've been really lucky lately to work with some extremely talented make up artists, one was Heather Baker who I worked with on the street editorial shoot and has now gone back to Seattle, and the other is Dara Wakely, who is another amazing make up artist! She works on films, tv, editorials, etc etc. She's an awesome person and absolutely fantastic to work with on set. Hopefully we'll get to work together again soon as our visions, styles and level of work really compliment each other as you can see in these images. Our model was Toni Edwards, who is signed with modelling agency, The Agencie, based in Wellington, this girl is also a dream to work with, it's like she'd envisioned the look we needed and as soon as I looked through the viewfinder that look hit me with a BAM, it perfectly fitted the image as a whole.. I absolutely love it when that happens!. Not to mention these were photographed in a cold evening and outside, and believe me that chainmail is cold! There's more to come of these when I get a chance to process them but here's a few for now.

Whew rain!, although I'm not into rain as I get a bank up of shooting work, at the moment it is welcomed so I can catch up on much needed post and organization work, not to mention sharing some of the new stuff I've been working on lately:)

Wedding- Ashley & Shay

We photographed a terrific wedding yesterday. It was held at Fitzroy Beach then we got some photos at Back Beach and Pukekura Park that I'm really stoked with and I think they will be too! Here's a little taster for them to share with everyone =)
